  • Artificial Intelligence and Learning Systems Laboratory NTUA
    The Artificial Intelligence and Learning Systems Laboratory (AILS Lab) is one of the main research units of the ECE NTUA, directed by Professor Giorgos Stamou. AILS Lab has been established as the union of two major ECE Laboratories, the Image, Video and Multimedia Laboratory (IVML) and the Intelligent Systems Laboratory (ISLab), pioneering from 1989 in areas like neural networks, multimedia content analysis, human interaction, fuzzy logics, ontological knowledge representation and reasoning. AILS Lab has a significant presence in leading conference in the field of AI and Machine learning, such as IJCAI, ACL, EMNLP and others.
  • Biomedical Engineering Laboratory NTUA
    The Biomedical Engineering Laboratory (BEL) of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) was created in 1990 and since 2001 it has been an institutionalized laboratory of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The mission of the Laboratory is to serve educational and research needs in the fields of Biomedical Technology and applications related to the relevant technologies.
  • Biomedical Optics and Applied Biophysics Laboratory NTUA
    The Laboratory of Biomedical Optics and Applied Biophysics at the National Technical University of Athens focuses on the development and application of optical technologies and biophysical methods for medical diagnostics and imaging. It combines principles from physics, engineering, and medicine to advance non-invasive healthcare solutions and biomedical research.
  • Bio-Microsystems Laboratory NTUA
    The Bio-Microsystems Laboratory leverages MEMS technology, microfluidics, lab-on-chip platforms, biosensors, and wearables to develop integrated solutions at the intersection of engineering and life sciences. Its research focuses on advancing MEMS-based microsystems to address pressing challenges in human health—from eliminating environmental pollutants and combating pathogen transmission to advancing neurotherapeutics and mental health monitoring.
  • Biomedical Simulations and Imaging Laboratory NTUA
    The Biomedical Simulations and Imaging (BIOSIM) Laboratory was founded in 1999 and is part of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) and the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The Laboratory is involved in research, mainly in the following areas: Diabetes & Obesity Management, Cardiovascular Diseases, Mobile Health, Computational & Congnitive Neuroscience, Smart Health Systems.
  • Biofluid Mechanics & Biomedical Technology Laboratory NTUA
    The Laboratory of Biofluid Mechanics & Biomedical Engineering was established in 2002 and is provided by the Fluids Section of the School of Mechanical Engineering of the NTUA. Its activities mainly concern the development of experimental technics and theoretical - computational methodologies with application to the solution of problems involved to biomechanics of the circulatory, respiratory and urinary system.
  • Control Systems Laboratory NTUA
    The Control Systems Laboratory (CSL), part of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, was established in 1981 and focuses on automatic control and advanced automation technologies. It is internationally recognized for its research and development in robotics and automation, maintaining strong collaborations with industry, government, and the European Union.
  • Histology - Embryology Laboratory NKUA
    The Laboratory of Histology - Embryology belongs to the Department of Medical Sciences (formerly Morphofunctional Department) of the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. It was established in 1932 and serves the teaching, research, diagnostic, training and academic needs of the Medical School in the field of Histology and Embryology. The Laboratory includes and operates the following Units, which cover the wide range of Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology, Experimental Embryology, as well as the Humanities. Specifically:
  • Intelligent Robotics and Automation Laboratory NTUA
    The Intelligent Robotics and Automation Laboratory (IRAL) was established in 1985. Its mission is to advance and sustain research and to support teaching in the broad fields of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Signal & Information Processing, Machine Learning, Control and Automation, Perception and Cognitive Systems. Basic and applied research is conducted in both theoretical and application problems.
  • Nuclear Engineering Laboratory NTUA
    The Nuclear Engineering Laboratory (NEL-NTUA) has been established in 1965 and currently belongs to the Niclear Engineering Department of NTUA's School of Mechanical Engineering. The Laboratory focuses on education and research regarding the fields of nuclear energy applications and related phenomena, technical applications of nuclear methods as well as the natural and man-made radiological environment.
  • Physiology Department NKUA
    The Department of Physiology (“Physiologeion”) of the Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, plays an important educational and research role in the discipline of Experimental Physiology. The purpose of the department is to provide a high level of education, and to conduct research aiming at underlying the mechanisms governing human health and disease and discovering new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to address them.
